Hike through the weekend in the Macedon Ranges!
This weekend, put on your hiking boots and make a day trip to Mount Macedon!
Only a 25-minute drive from Attwell, Mount Macedon awaits adventure seekers and nature lovers. The ranges are home to 30 kilometres of connecting walking trails, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon wandering amongst beautiful native eucalyptus, pine and mountain ash.
Despite the chill in the air, winter is one of the best times of the year to visit. The park is known for an abundance of mushrooms in the cooler months, alongside the chance to spot native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. If you’re ready to try your hand at birdwatching, the park is home to many different types of birds including rosellas, galahs, majestic eagles and tiny blue wrens.
The park has barbeque facilities available for public use, or there is plenty of local wineries in the area to visit after you’ve finished exploring!
